Braman Termite and Pest Elimination Will Participate in ‘Guest Chef’ Program July 22

Braman Termite and Pest Elimination, a leading provider of pest management services in southern New England since 1890, today announced that a number of their employees will participate in the “Guest Chef” program at the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield, MA®. The event will take place Wednesday, July 22.

Ronald McDonald House of Springfield, a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts®, is a home away from home for families whose children are being treated at Springfield area medical facilities. Amenities include 21 spacious private bedrooms, each with its own private bath, a large dining room, TV room, playroom, laundry room and library. Families are asked to make a donation of $15 per night, but the donation may be reduced or waived if necessary; the facility will accommodate families regardless of income.

“The Ronald McDonald House is a valuable asset to families in need of accommodation and support while their children are being treated at area hospitals,” said Jerry Lazarus, third generation owner of Braman Termite and Pest Elimination. “We value their commitment to provide for families battling illness, which is why we have volunteered to serve a home cooked meal to their residents as part of the ‘Guest Chef’ program.”

Staff from Braman Termite and Pest Elimination will prepare and serve an Italian dinner – salads, entrees and desserts – to as many as 40 families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield, July 22 at 6 p.m.

The Ronald McDonald House of Springfield is located at 34 Chapin Terrace. Since 1991, the facility has been one of an international network of over 300 houses that have opened since the first house was established in Philadelphia, Penn., in 1974. That house opened after a former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker had to sleep in hospitals while his daughter was fighting leukemia. The Eagles collaborated with Philadelphia-area McDonald’s restaurants to raise funds to purchase and renovate the first Ronald McDonald House to accommodate other families facing the same challenge.
